A Gospel Minute Worth Considering

The Apostle Paul warned the Christians of his day to be careful they are not being deceived by a different gospel than the one Jesus Christ preached (I Thessalonians 5:21, KJV).  These individuals can be anyone from sincere well-intentioned ministers and priests to deceptive world leaders.  Jesus reportedly said, “Take care that no one leads you astray.  Indeed many will appear, making use of My name, saying that I am Christ, yet deceiving many” (Matthew 24:4-5, KJV).

Jesus Himself warned that many shall come in My name.  In my name does not connote the name Christ Jesus specifically. The words are a warning that many shall come and will be taken seriously enough to deceive the many. Millions of sincere individuals have already been deceived by a false gospel.  Jesus makes the point clearly several times that it is easy to worship Him to no purpose “if the doctrines on which that worship is based have their source in men’s erroneous ideas about how to interpret Scripture” (Meredith, Do You Believe the True Gospel? pg. 3).

Please – study your Bible, “prove all things” (I Thessalonians 5:21, KJV).
